| Four kinds of primer design (PD) tools are provided as followed. Tool 1 is used for regular PCR only. While tools 2, 3, and 4 are designed for SNP genotyping.
1. General PD: |
is designed for primer sets in regular PCR. |
| 2. Natural PD: |
is designed for the primer set with RFLP restriction enzyme inside the PCR product for target SNP genotyping. |
| 3. Mutagenic PD: |
is designed for the primer set without RFLP restriction enzyme naturally. This tool is designed to change nucleotide beside the target SNP site and then artificially create the RFLP restriction enzyme for target SNP genotyping. |
| 4. CTPP PD: |
is designed to perform the SNP genotyping without the requirement for restriction enzyme. The principle of PCR-CTPP is detail described in "Nobuyuki Hamajima. PCR-CTPP: a new genotyping technique in the era of genetic epidemiology. Exp Rev Mol Diagn, 1:119-123, 2001". |
